Toronto, Ont. – On Tuesday, July 19, WoodGreen will be hosting a special book reading of What Can You Do with Just One Dollar? — a new children’s book written by the Executive Director of The WoodGreen Foundation Teresa Vasilopoulos, which illustrates to children the power of giving.
What Can You Do with Just One Dollar? focuses on diversity and inclusion, showing that all kids, regardless of their background can make a big difference. The book’s illustrator, Vic Guiza, is an award-winning illustrator with experience with top brands such as Disney and Marvel Comics. Vasilopoulos and Guiza collaborated to create a visually inclusive and representative story so readers of different cultures, situations, or experiences can see themselves in the characters and dream about how they can give or help others as it relates to their own life. What Can You Do with Just One Dollar? is self-published by Vasilopoulos with all the proceeds going to WoodGreen Community Services.

ABOUT TERESA VASILOPOULOUS: Teresa Vasilopoulos is a fundraising executive with a 25-year track record of leading highly successful multi-million-dollar campaigns. Her career in philanthropy spans leadership roles in the health, education, youth, poverty, social services, and international development sectors. Teresa has a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation, an EMBA from Queen’s University School of Business, and is a director on The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Foundation for Philanthropy of Canada, and AFP GTA Chapter Boards. She recently received the AFP Global Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award for 2022. Teresa hopes to inspire young readers to see beyond their own needs and find happiness through doing good.
