MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: WoodGreen Community Services to commemorate IWD2024 with announcement of significant donation to empower single mothers

Toronto, Ont. – On Friday, March 8, International Women’s Day, WoodGreen Community Services will announce a substantial contribution from The Raymond Chang Foundation to support its Homeward Bound program.

Unique in Canada, Homeward Bound is a four-year program that provides single mothers who are experiencing homelessness with housing and access to a college education to help them achieve self-sufficiency and promising careers.

Friday’s announcement will conclude a week-long activation at CIBC SQUARE (and on social media) inviting professionals to share their best career advice to participants of the Homeward Bound program. Completed cards will be incorporated into an interactive art installation, highlighting the transformative power of collective action and mentorship to help women in the program achieve financial success and independence.
