Did you know that you can raise funds for WoodGreen directly through PayPal? PayPal allows users to launch customized fundraising campaigns to support the causes they care about. Campaigns are simple to create through the PayPal app or on your desktop. You receive an instant electronic tax receipt from PayPal Giving Fund Canada, and WoodGreen receives 100% of the funds raised.
To create a fundraiser for WoodGreen, log into your PayPal account here or open the PayPal app on your phone. Click the “Payments” button in the centre bottom menu. In the “Giving” tab, click the option at the top for “Start a fundraiser.”
The campaign organizer receives a tax receipt for the full amount raised, or each individual donor receives a tax receipt through PayPal? Please clarify.
Step 1: Choose to create a fundraiser in support of a charity.
Step 2: Search for The WoodGreen Foundation.
Step 3: Enter the name of your fundraiser, the amount, end date and who can see your fundraiser. Click “Next.”
Step 4: Write a bit about what you are raising money for and why it matters.
Step 5: Add a unique photo representing the cause you are raising money for. Click “Create and Publish” or “Preview” to see what you have created.
Now that your fundraiser is live, you can share the link with your friends and family.
Important things to keep in mind:
- Once published, your fundraising campaign and all of its content are publicly available and searchable by postal code, category, keywords, etc.
- A campaign can be live for a maximum of 30 days, after which point it will be removed from the platform.
- PayPal Giving Fund Canada does not charge any transactions fees, so donations can go further.
- You will receive a tax receipt from PayPal Giving Fund Canada. You can choose to inform the WoodGreen Foundation of your fundraiser, so we can express our appreciation.
