English Conversation Circle Moms program will help to lead a small group of newcomer moms to practice conversational English in an informal setting on various topics such as Canadian culture and employment. The purpose is to facilitate an English Conversation Circle (ECC) which will help newcomer Moms enhance their English language skills and to gain confidence in communicating in English.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with looking after children under 19 months, while mothers are learning language in the same room

What You Bring to the Team :

• Knowledge of working and engaging with Children
• Patient and interested in working with children
• Dependable, self-motivated, ability to facilitate under minimal supervision
• Ability to track your volunteering hours on a monthly basis using our volunteer management system

Shift hours:

• Thursdays from 10:30 AM – 12 PM

Commitment:

• Minimum of 3 months (1 shift per week)

Screening Requirements:

• Application
• VSC-Police check
• Reference check
• Be 18 years or older

Training:

• Onboarding training with the program coordinator
