Helping our community to wipe away germs thanks to Lysol

Jennifer Mayville, Senior Manager, Communications

When Reckitt, maker of Lysol® products, reached out to WoodGreen for help distributing over 50,000 units of Lysol disinfecting wipes to community members, they knew that we could make it happen. We called on some wonderful partners to ensure that the impact was felt not just at WoodGreen, but across the GTA and beyond.

WoodGreen was able to distribute these wipes across our variety of programming — including our affordable housing locations and food banks, community care and seniors’ active living programs, child care, and newcomer communities via our incredible Community Ambassadors.

Working closely with community partners, we distributed Lysol wipes to organizations like Kapapamachakwew – Wandering Spirit School and the Urban Indigenous Centre, Young Street Mission, Dixon Hall, Parc, West Neighbourhood House, Michael Garron Hospital and Elder Little Brown Bear, Second Harvest (which was even able to deliver to Manitoulin Island and further north for distribution), Campfire Circle (formerly Camp Ooch and Camp Trillium), and more!

We are truly grateful for Reckitt’s donation to the community, and grateful to our friends at Michael Garron Hospital who lent us space where up to 42 skids could be received and then picked up by or distributed to programs throughout the GTA.

This is a wonderful example of organizations coming together for the benefit of the community, particularly as the pandemic continues and flu season begins.

THANK YOU TO RECKITT FOR KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY SAFE AND THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED GET THESE WIPES INTO THE HANDS OF THOSE WHO NEED THEM MOST!
