Addressing the housing crisis

As housing affordability continues to be a key challenge for our city, WoodGreen remains committed to expanding and diversifying our affordable housing portfolio to ensure all Torontonians have a safe place to call home. This year, we saw growth in our property management portfolio with the addition of five properties providing permanent affordable rentals and commercial spaces for artists that were previously managed by Toronto Artscape Inc.

Welcoming our city’s newcomers

Toronto continues to experience rapid growth driven primarily by immigration. This past year, we welcomed nearly 4,000 newcomers beginning new lives in Canada, providing emergency support and housing for asylum seekers and refugees, and offering new programs focused on supporting newcomer wellness.

WoodGreen CARES for Toronto’s seniors

As our city’s population grows, it also ages. To support Toronto’s aging population, we launched the Community Active Response for Elder Support (CARES) Project, a volunteer-led initiative that will help empower hundreds of seniors to age safely and independently at home through services like friendly visiting and calling, and medical escorting.
