DIBE stands for diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity and denotes the four principles that WoodGreen strives to advance and for our staff, clients, and broader communities.
At WoodGreen, the work related to Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Equity (DIBE) is a collective effort carried out by all staff members every day. However, it receives special attention, advocacy, and leadership from our dedicated DIBE Committee with support and commitment from our Senior Leadership Team. This commitment is reflected in WoodGreen’s 2024-27 Strategic Plan. At the heart of this strategic plan lies a steadfast commitment to equity. This guiding principle shapes every aspect of our strategic pillars, ensuring that our initiatives are inclusive and fair. Whether we are collaborating with clients, supporting our staff, or analyzing data, our actions are consistently driven by our equity principles. By embedding equity into the core of our operations, we strive to create a more equitable and inclusive environment for all stakeholders, fostering a culture where everyone can thrive.
Similarly, WoodGreen’s organizational values also uphold our commitment to DIBE principles. Our values state: We are inclusive. We value equity and diverse perspectives and work to create safe spaces for everyone.
The DIBE Committee was launched in 2019 and began with some theoretical and foundational work. That initial work helped position the Committee to respond to the significant human rights movements of 2020 and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The DIBE committee aims to foster a workplace culture where everyone feels included, respected, and supported. Here are some key objectives of WoodGreen’s DIBE committee:
- Promote Diversity: Ensure representation of various demographics within the organization.
- Ensure Equity: Identify and address systemic inequities to provide fair opportunities for all employees.
- Foster Inclusion: Create an environment where all employees feel valued and can fully participate.
