Toronto, ON – WoodGreen Community Services is thrilled to announce that we have received Pre-Retrofit Funding from the federal government through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s (CMHC) Canada Greener Affordable Housing program. This funding supported preparation work needed for future deep energy retrofits across several of our affordable housing properties in Toronto, ensuring long-term sustainability and improved living conditions for our residents.
This funding is a crucial first step in achieving energy efficiency and reduction of emissions in affordable housing buildings. It allows for the necessary planning, assessments, and designs to prepare for retrofitting buildings to meet ambitious energy performance targets. This initiative aligns with WoodGreen’s commitment to addressing the urgent need for sustainable and affordable housing solutions in Toronto.
The funding can directly benefit the following properties in our housing portfolio:
- 2353 Dufferin
- 2 Laxton
- 650 Queen St. E
- 570 Coxwell
- 137 Sears
- 1119 Gerrard
- 243 Cosburn
- 63 Pape
- 1070 Queen St. E
